AgentPay · New payments, on the spot

Your agent sets the price.PayAuth takes the payment.

A deposit, a booking, a sale: your agent sets the amount, and one API call turns it into a secure payment link. Nothing needs to be in your books first. PayAuth runs the checkout, moves the money, and keeps the record.

How it works

One call in. Money out.

  1. 01

    Create a payment link

Send the amount and what it’s for. You get back a link good for one payment of exactly that amount, for 31 minutes.

  2. 02

    Your agent hands it over

By text or chat, or during a call, while your customer is ready to pay. PayAuth never contacts your customer; your agent stays in the conversation.

  3. 03

    The money settles

Your customer pays on a hosted checkout. Check the status by API, and your share is paid out to your bank daily.

The handoff

Your agent talks. PayAuth takes the money.

The conversation stays with your agent. The moment it’s time to pay, the payment moves to a checkout built for money, and the record comes back to you.

  • Your agent never touches a card number

It sends a link and reads a status. Card details go from your customer straight into the checkout.

  • A charge your customer can recognize

Their statement reads PAYAUTH* followed by your business name, shortened to fit, so they can tell who they paid.

  • No payments company to become

PayAuth is the merchant of record. You take payments without building a checkout or a payout system.

Built for agents

Made for software that talks to people

Agents retry, run in parallel, and act on what they’re told. AgentPay is built for that: retries are safe, and every response says exactly where an invoice stands.

  • Don’t build the secure part

A hosted card checkout, run by Stripe, certified PCI-DSS Level 1. Your agent gets a link.

  • One amount, one payment

Every link is fixed to the amount your agent asked for, is good for one payment, and expires on its own after 31 minutes. Your customer can’t pay twice on one link.

  • Safe to retry

Send an Idempotency-Key header, and a repeated request returns the invoice and link the first one made, instead of a second link.

  • Keys you control

Each key carries only the permissions you give it, is shown once, is stored hashed, and can be revoked from your dashboard at any moment.

  • Errors your agent can act on

The errors your agent needs to tell apart carry a code, like merchant_not_ready or invoice_already_paid, so it knows what to do next.

  • Any agent stack

Voice, SMS, or chat; a platform or your own code. If it can make an HTTPS request, it can create a payment link.

The API

A small API, four routes for invoices

Create a key in your dashboard and send it as a Bearer token. In the API, a payment link is called an invoice. Every route names the one permission it needs, so a key can do exactly what you allowed, and nothing else.

  • Amounts in cents, from $0.50 to $999,999.99
  • Retries made safe with an Idempotency-Key header
  • Cursor pagination that never skips or repeats
  • Error codes for the cases your agent must tell apart
EndpointsAuthorization: Bearer pak_…
  • POST/v1/invoicesCreate an invoice and its payment linkinvoices:write
  • GET/v1/invoicesList invoices, newest firstinvoices:read
  • GET/v1/invoices/{id}Read one, with its statusinvoices:read
  • POST/v1/invoices/{id}/cancelCancel an open oneinvoices:write

An invoice’s life

open
  • paidThe money arrived.
  • expiredIts 31 minutes ran out.
  • cancelledCancelled before payment.

An invoice leaves open only once. The one exception: if a payment ever arrives on an expired or cancelled invoice, it is recorded as paid and flagged for review.

Questions

AgentPay questions

How is AgentPay different from AgentAR?

AgentPay is for new amounts your agent sets on the spot. AgentAR is for money you’re already owed: it keeps your receivables, ledgers, and balances, and its payment links are made by AgentPay underneath. If your agent is chasing invoices you’ve already sent, you want AgentAR.

How does my agent know a payment went through?

It checks the payment link’s status with GET /v1/invoices/{id}. The status moves from open to paid when the payment clears.

What does my customer see at checkout?

Your business name, the description your agent sent, and the amount. They pay by card on a hosted checkout run by Stripe.

How long does a payment link work?

31 minutes, for one payment of one amount. If your customer needs longer, your agent creates a new link in one call.

Is this the same as Stripe’s Agentic Commerce Protocol or Visa Intelligent Commerce?

No. Those are about an agent buying something on a person’s behalf. AgentPay is the other direction: an agent collecting a payment from a person, on a business’s behalf.

What about refunds and disputes?

We’re finalizing how refunds and disputes work, and will publish the policy before launch. Until then, email support@payauth.com with any question.
